There has never been a better time to join EQ.Role SummaryEQ is seeking an Implementation Analyst to join a brand new team responsible for onboarding Bulk Purchase Annuity (BPA) Schemes. Significant experience in the pensions industry and a strong technical pensions background is required, knowledge of Bulk Purchase Annuities would be advantageous It is an exciting time and opportunity to be a part of this Implementation team that is not only responsible for the core configuration of the system, but also working closely with the ongoing development of the Administrator system, including contributing to development plans, reviewing enhancement requests, Administrator rollouts and producing prototypes for new functionality.Business FunctionEQ Pensions Operations delivers an excellent service across our diverse client base. Our Pensions Administration teams are responsible for keeping accurate and compliant pension records for our clients and pension scheme members. For the provision of all the other aspects of members' pensions, our administration function is key. Our people, our Administrator platform and its integrated mobile-friendly web tools, are key elements in delivering this. Leading-edge responsive web tools and contact centre facilities help members to engage with their retirement wealth as they progress along their journey to retirement.Our function is responsible for:Delivering on the daily service promiseContinually improving our service performance to grow advocacyHelping EQP successfully achieve its goalsSupporting EQP with shaping bids to renew existing contracts or winning new workManaging our supplier relationshipsOperating within our budget envelopeManage the risks within our business in line with agreed appetiteAdhering to Divisional and Group policiesBecoming better at everything we do every dayCore
Duties/Responsibilities The successful candidates will be responsible for the following:Working across all aspects of the Administrator applicationLoading and importing bulk annuity data using Equiniti tools (e.g. DataSure, EQ Porter etc.)Analyse and assess pension data extracts against standards and ensuring final extracts are in line with the relevant benefit specification(s)Validation of data extracts through standard checks, control totals and production of agreed test scenario outputsIdentification of any data issues and raise these with the client through query logHighlighting areas of potential development and efficiencies to be gainedConfiguring scheme, category, and element parameters within the Administrator applicationMaintaining integrated spreadsheetsRatifying factor usage and maintaining factor feedsValidating interface requirementsConfiguring member communications to reflect bespoke specific scheme requirementsCollaboration with clients (both internal and external) to understand their requirements for the Administrator applicationAnalysing, understanding , documenting and estimating client requirementsBuild and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders, Trustee administrators and client stakeholdersImproving the implementation practices and proceduresWorking closely with the development team to refine and improve the systemSkills, Capabilities and AttributesThe successful candidate will demonstrate the following experience, skills and behaviours:Requirements DefinitionUndertake analysis on implementation projects and/or enhancements for existing clientsAnalyse changes and enhancements to client’s pensions systemsLiaise with clients to define and understand requirements and estimate workPlanning and controlAccurately estimate and plan deliverables. To monitor progress against plan enabling projects to be delivered on time and within budget, providing progress reporting as requiredAdhere to project estimating, planning, management and reporting proceduresBuild/ Test (Calculations, Data Migration and Processes)Application of data cleansing and data migration activities when requiredConfiguration and testing of automation processes inclusive of pension calculations, workflow build, letters and output, reports, employer self-service, member self-serviceAlign to defined policies and procedures, identifying, where appropriate, any deficiencies in, or opportunities for improvement to, established standards and proceduresEnsure successful implementation of defined deliverables within the scope of each task assignedDocumentationProduce user and pension systems documentation as required and agreed. Covering but not limited to scope documents, specification, and user guides.SupportProvide support to the administration teams and clients. Supporting the testing and rollout of the implementation.LegislationInterpret and implement legislative changes making use of Regulatory & Pensions Support team advice where necessaryCommercial AwarenessWork within the correct boundaries of scope, incident management and change controlDesign and provide a solution which is fit for purpose and in line with budgetary constraintsQualification and ExperienceEducated to degree standard preferred but not essentialExperience of using Pension Configuration Tools and MS SQLRelevant qualifications in the Pensions & Actuarial Industry desirable (e.g. Pensions Management Institute Certification)Significant experience in the pensions industry and a strong technical pensions background, particularly in the area of Bulk Purchase Annuities, would be highly desirableDemonstrable software development capabilities; • Demonstrate commercial awareness & operational efficiencies/income generation in current role.Essential QualitiesTake ownership of the role and delivery to clientDemonstrate effective and probing appraisal of situations.
