Immigration Support Worker - Slough

Are you a passionate, dedicated Immigration Support Worker looking for your next role? 4Recruitment Services are recruiting an Immigration Support Worker to join a Rough Sleeping Team based in Slough.

Pay rate is £19.00 - £23.09 per hour.

2 months initially.

37.50 hours a week

The role:


  • Provide guidance and assistance to individuals experiencing homelessness with immigration issues, including those who lack access to public funding or do not have an immigration status in the UK.
  • Evaluate the immigration status of clients and determine available options and pathways for regularization.
  • Work together with immigration solicitors, charities, and organizations to ensure clients receive precise legal advice and support.
  • Participate in outreach sessions during early mornings (5-9am) or late nights (9pm-12am) to reach individuals sleeping rough and assist them in accessing available services.
  • Create and manage personalized support plans for clients, considering their immigration status, social needs, and health issues.
  • Track client progress and adjust support strategies as needed to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Keep precise and confidential client records, ensuring adherence to data protection regulations.
  • Recognize and facilitate the quickest and most appropriate housing options for clients, which could entail emergency shelters, transitional housing, or longer-term solutions.

Champion clients within the immigration system and other pertinent agencies to guarantee their rights and requirements are fulfilled.


  • Work closely with the Rough Sleeping team and partner agencies to deliver comprehensive care for clients.

Requirements


  • Preferred experience in outreach work or a related field is desirable.
  • Registered and qualified with at least Level 1 OISC certification.
  • Proven track record in offering assistance to individuals facing homelessness and immigrants with intricate needs.
  • Understanding of immigration regulations and procedures, encompassing asylum, visas, and refugee status.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities, with cultural awareness and empathy.
  • Enhanced DBS registered to the update service.
