We are actively seeking an Imaging Scientist II to join our expanding team.Are you looking for a new challenge in a growing organisation?About the roleYou willapply methods and algorithms for processing digital histopathology images and contribute to researching new methods. You will participate in collaborative research projects, develop and validate prototypes, and support the translation of prototypes into products by collaborating with various internal teams. You will also apply your digital pathology expertise to analyse clinical trial data and support the delivery of technical information to pharmaceutical partners, contributing to the development of new standards of treatment across Perspectum’s portfolio of interests. Your day to day duties will include:Run, maintain, validate, and improve Perspectum’s proprietary digital histopathology pipelines.Carry out research on methods, algorithms and machine learning models for digital histopathology image analysis.Implement, apply, and extend state-of-the-art algorithms.Contribute to scientific manuscripts, patents and grant applications.Write, read, and understand technical reports and algorithm specifications.Support the team to develop proof-of-concept and prototype software.Keep up to date with advances in biomedical image processing, through team meetings and conference attendance.Make internal and external presentations showcasing the work of the Imaging Science team.Guide and support the team in their algorithmic research.Collaborate with product management and software engineering teams on product development.Collaborate with internal research teams and on external research collaborations.About youYou will have a solid grounding in mathematics/science as well as experience of processing digital pathology images. You will also have experience of coding in Python or other relevant programming languages. Your skills will include:Good oral and written communication.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Good organisation.Evidence of an interest in biomedical research.Understanding of the importance of algorithmic validation.Although not essential, ideally you will have:Experience with version control tools, e.g., Git.Extensive knowledge of imaging science, and familiarity with related fieldsExperience in machine learning/data science.Evidence of research achievement.Experience of algorithmic testing and validation.Track record of working on collaborative projects in which imaging has been a major component.This role will be based full time in our Oxford HQ offices where flexible working is available.About UsAt Perspectum, we offer our employees a flexible, fast-paced and fun environment.
