Onshore HVDC Converter Station Commissioning Engineer - Offshore Wind Project - North Yorkshire - �Excellent Day Rate - 6 Month Contract + Guaranteed Extensions - Outside IR35 - ASAP Start Date





Have you got experience commissioning 400kv substation or HVDC converter station systems? Are you looking to be involved in an iconic Offshore Wind project commissioning complex HVDC systems? If so, please read on...





Responsibilities:




  • Perform comprehensive commissioning activities from HVDC to LV systems, including protection relays, control systems, transformers, and converters.

  • Conduct thorough testing and validation of all HVDC system components, ensuring compliance with design specifications and operational requirements.

  • Identify and resolve technical issues encountered during the commissioning phase, collaborating with engineering teams and contractors to implement effective solutions.

  • Prepare and maintain detailed commissioning documentation, including test reports, procedures, and commissioning records.

  • Work closely with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution and adherence to project timelines.

  • Ensure all commissioning activities comply with safety regulations, industry standards, and client requirements.

  • Provide technical guidance and support to other commissioning engineers and team members.





Requirements:




  • 3-5 years of experience in commissioning HVDC systems, with a strong background in both LV and HVDC systems.

  • Proficiency in commissioning HVDC converter stations and associated components is beneficial but not essential.

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities to address technical issues effectively.

  • Willingness to travel and work on-site as required.
