HVAC Service Engineer

Job DescriptionROLE PURPOSEWe are seeking a HVAC Service Engineer specialising in AHU Controls to provide engineering support to the regional client portfolio including technical and engineering needs related to contracted and non-contracted planned maintenance and reactive work.MAIN RESPONSIBILITIESTo attend sites as directed by the service controller / supervisor / manager, to carry out such technical assistance and engineering duties as are required and are within their skills / competence, ensuring a positive customer experience.To carry out planned preventative maintenance, repair, refurbishment, alteration, modification or commissioning of plant and equipment as contracted to the company.To carry out maintenance, repair, refurbishment, alteration, modification or commissioning of plant and equipment.To produce weekly reports, timesheets, etc, providing all necessary details to enable the Administrative Staff to collate records, prepare invoices and manage the business effectively.To correctly use the resources provided in accordance with requirements. These will include equipment such as company clothing, Person Protective Equipment, PDA’s, test equipment, access equipment, refrigerant, stock, vehicles and documentation. Details of correct and safe usage will be contained in allied documentation where applicable. Any problems, faults, etc, must be reported promptly to the job-holder’s immediate supervisor.To prepare risk assessments on site, where required, to achieve compliance with health, safety and environmental duties.To identify opportunities to add value to the client through the provision of additional / alternative services, and to report such opportunities to his/her line manager.To assist in the local sales activities by submitting sales leads, to the sales team, thus making a personal sales contribution.To participate in meetings, briefings, training courses, as part of the company’s overall communications and development processes.This is not an exhaustive list of the roles responsibilities.About You:Full UK Driving Licence (maximum 6 points on licence and no cases pending)Enhanced DBS checks as required by the Company, the results of which must be considered satisfactory as work involves entry to schools, hospitals and other restricted establishments.F-Gas and City and Guilds 2079 or NVQ Level 2 in Refrigeration and Air-ConditioningExcellent understanding of HVAC / AHU control philosophy and controls equipmentExcellent understanding of BMS communication protocols, especially BACnet and ModbusExcellent fault diagnosis on all forms of packaged HVAC control systemsIT skills required; BACnet, Modbus, HVAC control softwareAble to work alone and as part of a teamRole will involve lifting/loading and driving long distances at times and/or to several locations per day will be required and are an integral part of this job.Willing to work at height and in confined spaces when required.In return we offer the following package:Competitive salary, door to door travelOvertime available and on-call rates25 days Holiday (+ bank holidays)Life Assurance SchemeEnhanced Family Friendly BenefitsCycle to Work schemeLong Service AwardsEmployee Assistance Programme & Access to Mental Health SupportLearning and Development OpportunitiesAbout us: For over 100 years, we have proudly developed innovative and energy-efficient Indoor Air Quality solutions for commercial buildings and critical ventilation applications.
