Job DescriptionHR OfficerBirminghamFull Time & Permanent£30,000 - £35,000We are currently working with an Education setting just south of Birmingham city centre who are looking for a standalone HR officer on a full time permanent basis.Reporting into the Head Teacher supporting c. 250 employees this is a true HR generalist role with duties including;First point of call for all employee relations queries and independent ER case managementSupporting managers on absence management, performance managementFull recruitment lifecycle management from advert writing and posting, assisting managers with shortlisting & interviewing through to on-boarding and supporting managers through probation & performance reviewsAssisting with new starter training & taking all new employees through full induction Appraisal management Data protection and compliance management Reviewing and updating school policies and proceduresSole responsibility to managing School HR database This is a full time permanent position working Monday to Friday 8.30am to 4.30pm with some flexibility on start & finish times and it is full time on-site in Birmingham.Person SpecificationFor this position we are looking for experienced HR professionals who are either CIPD level 5 or equivalent or currently working towards this qualification. You will be experienced in employee relations case management and in assisting across the full recruitment lifecycle. Prior experience within a school, education, public sector or not for profit organisation would be desirable but not essential if you have a particular passion for working in the education sector.You will have the confidence and ability to work in a standalone HR role supporting a relatively large workforce of 250 staff and be adept and prioritising and managing your own workload.You will be excellent at establishing and maintaining relationships with staff of all levels of seniority and be a real HR champion not afraid to challenge and influence.This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR Officer to step up into a standalone role where you will have full responsibility for the HR function of the School.
