The Hansen’s Group of Companies is seeking a seasoned and professional
Human Resources Business Partner
to join its corporate HR team. Reporting to the Director, Human Resources, this role shall maintain an effective level of business literacy about the Group of Companies and support a broad spectrum of Human Resources programs, projects & initiatives. This role will handle highly sensitive information and provide guidance to employees and managers on related HR matters. Recruitment:
Collaborate with Hiring Managers to lead full-cycle recruitment, build pipeline (job postings, conduct backchecks, prepare employment offers).
Manage job boards, recruitment costs on Indeed and build relationships with Agencies for short turnaround hiring in cases of peak period.
Research and prepare new Job Descriptions for review.
Maintain accurate inventory of Job Descriptions and related documents as per existing documents standards for easy retrieval and accessibility.
Training & Development:
Maintain up-to-date and accurate employee data and status in Truck Right ATS, HR Downloads LMS.
Administer compliance e-learning training program and provide training reports to Business Leaders using Truck Right and HR Downloads.
Develop Job Aids and Guides to supplement various employee development programs.
Health & Safety:
Maintain user access and updates into the PHS Health & Safety Management System to ensure all accidents/incidents are logged timely and accurately by business leaders or JHSC.
Maintain the company Injury Log used for multiple reports.
Conduct workplace investigation and prepare Investigation Report for review as necessary.
Conduct monthly Head Office Health & Safety Inspections and implement corrective actions.
Conduct annual virtual audit to ensure Notice Boards across all locations (Canada and USA) are compliant with required jurisdictions and provide updated Posters as legislation changes.
Human Resources Programs:
Provide extensive support with the Company’s Pay Equity Program.
Maintain HR annual calendar and coordinate HR Programs: Quarterly
50/50 Employee/Charity Program, Annual Scholarship Program, Annual Employee Service Awards Programs and other. Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and other relevant applications.
Ability to create quality documentation required for projects, programs and other initiatives.
Ability to learn the organization’s culture, structure, compensation practices and administrative practices.
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage data, identify gaps and support continuous improvement.
Education and Experience:
University degree and/or equivalent experience in Human Resources Management.
Working knowledge of various Canadian government websites for employment legislation.
Experienced with Job Evaluation and Pay Equity Programs will be an assest.
Experienced with Applicant Tracking Systems and Learning Management Systems.
CHRP/CHRL designation or in pursuit of designation.
Minimum 5 years recent relevant experience; demonstrated experience in recruiting, knowledge of employment, health and safety legislation, pay equity, learning & development and HR best practices.
Work Conditions
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Interaction with others under varying circumstances-including situations of a sensitive nature.
Attendance and conducting of presentations online.
