Job DescriptionRARE Restaurants which is formed of Gaucho and M Restaurants are looking for a People Advisor North, ideally with restaurant or hospitality experience to join the company’s amazing People team. Working alongside the Talent and Learning & Development teams, the key focus for this role will include Employee Relations (coaching and supporting our Operational leaders), driving Employee Engagement through our Company Values and RARE culture, whilst assisting the Head of People (HOP) and Operations Director with HR projects in our bid to be ‘best in class’. We are looking for someone with solid HR experience, who understands the fast and dynamic pace of the industry, with a strong sense of integrity and passion to role-model people leadership across our expanding collection of 22, UK restaurants.At Rare Restaurants, our values guide our behaviours and decision-making. Shaping our workplace culture;#SUCCESS #PASSION #IMPACT #INTEGRITY #COMMUNITY #EMPATHYTasks and Responsibilities:Provide administrative support for all HR related activities within your RestaurantsIssuing promotion and salary increase letters.Updating employment contracts where necessary.Supporting and coaching operational leaders with the management of Employee Relations issues.Minute taking during Disciplinary and Grievance hearings.First point of contact for HR enquiries. Understanding when to escalate serious HR concerns.Providing employee reference responses.Build effective working relationships with employees at all levels, providing advice and guidance on a range of HR policies and HR related issues to support understanding and ensure effective communication of good HR practice.Coaching managers to help develop their people management skills as required.Ensure employee records are accurate and up to date and provide accurate and timely reports as and when required.Key advocate for our Benefits and Employee support per restaurantAssist with ad-hoc HR projects.Role model the company values and drive employee engagement activities.Assist the HOP to deliver the company’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion strategy.Work collaboratively with the Talent and L&D teams.Provide cover for the People Advisor (with Head office Management responsibilities) during holidays and absences.The successful candidate:Has a minimum of 2 years’ experience within an similar Regional HR role, with previous exposure of managing an array of employee relations issuesA comprehensive understanding of UK employment lawPrevious experience in coaching and role-modelling – integrity is keyYou are required to manage your own diary, adhere to our presentation requirements and show meticulous attention to detailYou will have a can-do attitude, be a great team player and a natural completer finisherYou are confident, engaging and a clear communicatorAbility to take initiative and work autonomously without close supervision, possessing great interpersonal working skills.Friendly and approachable.
