A fantastic opportunity has emerged for a dedicated Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Manager to join a well- established business located in South Wales.�As the�HSE management, you will oversee all aspects of health, safety, and environmental practices, ensuring compliance with regulations and fostering a culture of well-being. Reporting directly to the Site Director, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping and implementing HSE strategies for organizational success.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise Health & Safety audits and inspections on-site, ensuring thoroughness and effectiveness.
- Drive the development and implementation of protective and preventative measures, overseeing planning and execution.
- Spearhead Risk Assessments and Safe Working Practices (SWPs), actively seeking opportunities to mitigate risks.
- Collaborate with departmental Managers to develop and deploy SWPs, optimizing safety procedures across operations.
- Champion accident prevention initiatives, including the creation and dissemination of team briefs and Task Observation Behavioural Evaluation Reports.
- Liaise with departmental Managers to review H&S reports, address risks, and foster awareness.
- Lead H&S investigations, ensuring thoroughness and compliance with protocols.
- Oversee site training initiatives, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Drive the development of the H&S Management System, utilizing continuous improvement methodologies.
- Ensure completion of COSHH assessments and compliance with environmental regulations.
- Lead environmental management activities, striving for excellence in waste management and energy efficiency.
- Maintain and enhance the Environmental Management System to ISO 14001 standards.
- Oversee the Energy Management System to ISO 50001 standards, ensuring efficiency and sustainability.
- Undertake audits on site to ensure our IPPC permit is being adhered to.
Qualifications:
- Essential: NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent.
- Proficiency in email, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Exceptional report writing and communication skills.
- Strong leadership with proven ability to drive change and foster a culture of safety.
- Proactive approach with demonstrated teamwork and collaboration.
- Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
- In-depth knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies.
- Desirable: Environmental/Quality qualification and/or professional Membership of IOSH/IEMA/CQI.
