About The Company:

Our client, a scaffolding subcontractor, situated in Northwest England with additional representation in the Northeast, Southwest, and London, boasts an annual turnover of £27 million and are well placed on prestigious projects across the UK, ranging across the nuclear, industrial and civil engineering sectors. They retain excellent relationships with Tier 1 contractors.

About You:

Do you have a strong commitment to upholding high standards in construction procedures while placing emphasis on the welfare of the team and the environment? Our client is looking for a skilled and motivated individual to become a part of their team, taking on the role of HSE Advisor for various projects in Birmingham and the North East.

You must have a willingness to travel and stay away during the week as the role will be two days in Birmingham and two days in North East, with 1 day flex, either on site or working remotely.

Duties:

Ensure all HSE Procedures are followed and adhered to.
Ensure adherence to industry regulations, standards, and legal requirements concerning QHSE protocols.
Perform risk assessments, audits, and inspections to pinpoint potential hazards and areas necessitating enhancement.
Offer leadership, direction, and training to staff regarding quality, health, safety, and environmental concerns.
Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, formulating corrective and preventive measures to mitigate risks.
Collaborate with regulatory bodies, clients, and subcontractors concerning quality, health, safety, and environmental matters.
Continuously monitor and assess performance indicators to propel ongoing improvement endeavours.
Travel between sites and manage your own diary to ensure all areas are covered.

What is needed for the role:

NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety (Essential).
Knowledge of the industry, with a strong understanding of health and safety and environmental management systems. (Essential)
Knowledge of ISO Certification: ISO 9001, ISO 45001, ISO 14001 (Highly Desirable).
Strong leadership qualities, interpersonal and communication skills (Highly Desirable).
Problem solving and having a strong attention to detail are a must, and this role calls for an ability to engage and influence all key stakeholders.
Knowledge of necessary regulations and legislation.
Previous experience working within a scaffolding environment, either within construction or a pure scaffolding environment.
