Position Summary
Magellan Aerospace, Llay Wrexham has an exciting opportunity for a HSE Advisor.
Full Time Permanent Contract
39 hours per week.
Job location: Llay, Wrexham, LL12 0PB.
Unionised site – works in partnership with Unite the Union.
As HSE Advisor you will play a critical role in supporting the Wrexham HSE and corporate function. Reporting to the HSE Manager, you will engage with the site operational and supporting stakeholders to identify, coordinate and drive health, safety and environmental improvements; ensuring all HSE related issues are managed in compliance with relevant legislation and best practices.

Essential Responsibilities
Assist the HSE Manager to ensure delivery of safety performance in line with personal, divisional and corporate functional goals and objectives.
Integrate with the site Senior Management Team to provide advice, support and guidance on all matters relating to HSE.
Support accident/incident investigations, carry out trend/root cause analysis and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
Provide accurate and timely information and reports regarding site HSE performance to the HSE Manager.
Coordinate, facilitate and/or arrange training programs/courses in accordance with HSE training requirements.
Maintain the records, documents and standards required for ISO14001, ISO 45001 and third party audits.
Create, issue and review safety alerts, toolbox talks and one point lessons to implement and disseminate policies, procedures and standards.
Arrange, facilitate and contribute to the HSE committee, executives and working group meetings, presenting site achievements at business reviews.
Conduct internal audits/site inspections, and liaise with external auditors/external bodies in audits and inspections when needed.
Liaise with department managers/supervisors to advise, review risk assessments/safe systems of work inline with current HSE guidelines and when new processes are being implemented.
Prepare required reports including statutory in relation to HSE activities.
Demonstrate a regular presence on the shop floor, proactively interacting with the workforce to promote safe working practices across the sites, while finding effective solutions to any HSE issues identified.
Interact with the Occupational Health provider as required to offer site specific HSE information to support the health surveillance function.
Position Requirements
Professional Accreditations:
NEBOSH Certification
Tech IOSH (or higher)
Experience:
Knowledge and experience of H&S requirements in Aerospace manufacturing preferred
Experience of all elements of HSE processes including risk assessments, COSHH, fire safety, accident prevention, legal registers, control of contractors, RIDDOR, etc
Working knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems preferred
Engagement and communication with the appropriate authorities and regulators where required
Key Competencies:
Ability to engage and converse at all levels.
Presentation Skills (willing to learn)
IT literate, proficient in MS Office
