Company Overview



The client is a well established engineering company looking to bring in a HSE Advisor on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking to put themselves forward into a company that offers both stability and progression. The locations of the works will be across multiple projects sites in the London area.



Role Summary



To assist and provide support to the Head of HSEQ relating to all Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental matters, including planning and management across the business. To provide competent compliance advice and support to all employees and project teams. To report to the Senior HSE Advisor and be a point of contact within the company for all Health, Safety and Environmental compliance and performance matters.



Main Duties




  1. Maintain a regime of periodic monitoring, inspection and audit of all projects and locations to ensure that HSE procedures are effective and being complied with

  2. Provide competent advice on HSE matters and follow up on this as required

  3. Assist in the development of safe operational practices.

  4. Carry out regular site visits to advise on and monitor health, safety, and environmental conformity to the companies processes and statutory regulations

  5. Facilitate and where required lead on accident/incident investigations using the 2x2x2 Principle

  6. Undertake / record risk assessments and site inspections and consider how risks could be reduced

  7. Proactively identify potential hazards and determine ways to reduce risks

  8. Actively contribute to the publication of the monthly HSEQ Update

  9. Actively encourage and drive Good Call / Close Call reporting

  10. Provide support in any external audits that take place i.e., RISQS / ISO / Building Confidence etc.



Requirements




  1. Compliance issues across different sectors and client specific requirements

  2. Health, Safety, Quality and Environment best practice

  3. Third party audit and registration schemes.

  4. A relevant higher-level education or suitable professional qualifications

  5. HSE qualification to professional level e.g. NEEBOSH Construction and on the way to gaining CMIOSH, MIIRSM, MIEMA etc

  6. Site working/access qualification e.g., ECS, CSC
