The role:
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a HR Manager to join the Hovis team, to enable Hovis to deliver
on it’s vision of being the best quality brand in Bakery. Hovis are looking for a HR Manager who can help their people deliver amazing products every day, and help build a sustainable, successful business that continues to wow their stakeholders.
As part of the HR Leadership Team, you'll work closely with the wider HR team (L&D, Comms, Engagement and Operational), a broad range of stakeholders at your site, and external Trade Unions.
Some of the key accountabilities will include;
Delivering the people strategy; ensuring best practice HR excellence and supporting the achievement of business goals. You will also be responsible for maintaining consistency and providing value-added support across all areas of HR, including employee relations
Collaborating with others to influence policy and implement effective working practices and changes that continuously improve HR operations
Simplification and simplicity in approach will be important, allowing for effective focus on and delivery of business objectives
You’ll manage the site recruitment strategy/process, providing support and advice to line managers
You will provide support to central and support programs to ensure best in class performance
Identifying and addressing key business challenges, aligning HR to deliver effective solutions
Managing and ensuring effective industrial relations, ensuring an ongoing and constructive dialogue/meeting structure is undertaken
Management of the Apprenticeship program
You will hold the site HR and training budget

What are ‘must haves’ from you?
CIPD qualified or equivalent by experience
Proven experience in a generalist HR role at this or a similar level
Experience within an FMCG environment
Demonstrated ability to work within a Unionised environment
Sound and up-to-date knowledge of employee relations and employment law
Proficiency in performance management techniques
Experience of advising line managers and problem solving across a full range of HR activities
Proven experience in providing advice on employment related matters, whilst keeping a focus on business outcomes
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and persuade
Results-oriented, resilient, and highly motivated
What would be ideal?
Understanding of HR and Payroll IT systems
Basic knowledge of Health & Safety
Ability to identify training needs
Good presentation skills
