A Law Firm in London are looking for a HR Manager to join their team.
Key Responsibilities
Main point of contact for all personnel, including Partners, and Firm management on a range of HR issues, procedures and policies consistent with the local employment standards, laws and Firm protocols and guidelines.
Understands the local regulatory and legislative framework sufficiently to provide advice on various staffing projects and matters as they arise. Provides coaching and guidance on local regulatory framework and policies to assigned location and firmwide leadership.
Works alongside Assistant General Counsel and members of the firm?wide HR team to adopt and manage firm?wide policies and procedures in assigned locations and suggests adaptation or adjustments to those policies or practices to comply with regulations or case law.
Controls and manages the application of policies and procedures including absence, benefits and compensation.
Prepares statistics and management reports.
Ensures compliance with firm-wide reporting requirements and protocols.
Ensures compliance with health and safety.
Strategically partners with business leadership in assigned locations by: speaking with key business leaders on a regular basis; providing direction on people implications of the business strategy and the impact on objectives; designing, developing, and implementing practical solutions to business challenges; acting as an advocate for the assigned offices needs with EU & ME HR team and Firm leadership.
Manage professional recruitment, interviewing, assessment and placement, both regular and temporary.
Ensures drafting and handling of employment contracts and any changes to those contracts over time.
Completes orientation/new hire processes for new hires within assigned location.
Works closely with the Director of Administration to consult and communicate compensation programs that reward quality performance standards, and ensure external competitiveness and internal equality.
Oversees and completes all necessary payroll activities for responsible locations.
Processing exit procedures, interviews, coordination of final payroll, collection of firm property, final review and closure of personnel file, etc.
Maintains and/or audits personnel files for responsible locations. Completes all verifications of employment for assigned personnel. Ensures that all data entry (this includes hires, data changes, leave administration and terminations) is completed either personally or delegated to a member of the local or regional HR team.
Provides coaching and guidance on matters related to employee relations and performance management; offers feedback on style and behaviours to improve employee productivity and satisfaction. Arranges and conducts disciplinary and grievance meetings
Develops and implements programs that will drive increased employee engagement, satisfaction and commitment at all levels
Works closely with Director of HR, EU & ME and regional PD team to ensure that the London office is providing training, programs, and policies that are in line with other regions.
Coordinates and performs human resources communications duties related to recruiting of personnel, orientation programs, benefits and other human resources matters; coordinates and shares information and program change materials with the EU & ME HR Team.
Administers and advises on local benefits
including Pension, Medical and salary sacrifice schemes.
Models HR leadership competencies, participates in firm wide human resources networks and initiatives and perform all other duties as assigned or requested.
This is a a great opportunity for a HR Manager, acting HR Manager or HR Business Partner to work in a generalist, operational HR Management role, overseeing a small team and working closely with the wider HR members and senior leaders.
We are looking for candidates who have worked in a law firm before.
Salary circa £80,000 - £85,000, but there is opportunity for discussion for more senior candidates.
The role is ideally full time, but part-time may be considered.
Hybrid working - 2 / 3 days in the office a week.
