HR Generalist

Location: Portsmouth

Hours: 39 hours a week, Monday to Friday

Contract: Temporary to cover maternity until then end of the year.

Salary: TBA

Acorn by Synergie is currently seeking an experienced HR Generalist, required by their client, a leading global manufacturing and engineering company. This role offers full-time work on a temporary basis, working day shifts.

What are we looking for?

  • Ability to work to deadlines and at a fast pace.

Required Qualifications / Education and Experience:

  • CIPD Qualified level 7 or undertaking Qualification.
  • Previous Human Resources experience within a large multi-national organisation in a HR Generalist role
  • Degree level education or equivalent vocational qualifications.
  • Experience of a manufacturing organisation and its supporting disciplines. (Preferable)
  • Experience of supporting and guiding managers (Preferable)

Main responsibilities:

  • Customer focused HR delivery excellence across all elements of the employee life cycle.
  • Provide first line support to advise managers on all HR issues, in accordance with employment law, best practice, policies and procedures, terms and conditions of employment.
  • Anticipates and delivers HR support to help the organisation meet its KPI's, focuses on priorities in line with site business goals.
  • Ensure compliance with the Equal Opportunities Policy always.
  • Coordinate the Recruitment Process on site, working in collaboration with the Talent Acquisition Team.
  • Coordinate the Apprentice, Undergraduate and Graduate Recruitment Campaign and Programmes.
  • Coordinate site training and development activities.
  • Ensure Company Attendance Management Policy is adhered to and applied consistently across the site. Advise managers on absence issues, ensuring long-term corrective solutions.
  • Ensure HR policies, procedures and site rules are communicated appropriately; ensuring key information is passed on in an effective manner.
  • Coordinate the Annual Performance Appraisal Scheme for direct associates to ensure the development of employees.
  • Coordinate the utilisation of Wellbeing Provision on site including Occupational Health, Osteopath and Counselling and other such initiatives as may be introduced.
  • Provide advice and support to all employees across the site on HR and employment matters including policy interpretation.
  • Ensure that HR information is kept up to date, and in accordance with Data Protection Legislation, including maintenance of personnel files, electronic and paper.
