Invincible Drain Care Ltd is one of the largest independent plumbing and drainage service providers in the UK. Undertaking Planned and emergency work throughout the UK, providing a single point solution for all drainage and waste water plumbing requirements.
About the HR Advisor Role
Operating in a stand-alone capacity, the HR Advisor is responsible for the day to day running of the HR function. Additional responsibilities include the supervision and development of the HR Administrator
The role will collaborate with Directors and all levels of management to help ensure the smooth running of the business. The role will help push forward management strategies to further the business needs and requirements whilst providing key advice and guidance in relation to Employment Law.
In addition this role will be relied upon to promote and maintain positive employee relations as well as employee wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities of the HR Advisor
· Work with managers and directors on a daily basis to provide advice and guidance regarding HR.
· Responsible for the employee lifecycle from start to finish, from developing job descriptions, advertising vacancies, assisting with the interview process and inductions to exit interviews and leaver documentation.
· Involvement in ER casework.
· Provide support to employees in various HR-related topics.
· Involvement in employee performance reviews.
· Seek opportunities for continuous improvement around employee welfare and developing the people culture of the company, driving change.
· Supervision and development of the HR Administrator.
· Ensure effective monitoring of sickness trends and remedial action, to facilitate a proactive approach to absence management, ensuring a smooth return to work process and involving Occupational Health when required.
· Involvement in continuous improvement plans to ensure measurement and enhancement of the employee experience by listening and gathering feedback.
· Review and update employment contracts and ensure contract variations are produced in a timely manner.
· Responsible for the upkeep of HR policies and procedures, liaising with management to inform of any legislative changes.
· Carry out pre-employment checks such as Right to Work, DBS and driving licence checks.
· Involvement in employee external training courses.
· Maintenance of HR records.
· Liaise with payroll in relation to new starter documentation and ad-hoc payments/deductions.
· Assist other company personnel as required and carry out any other tasks within your capabilities.
Who are you?
· Significant experience within an HR department with knowledge across all elements of HR, enabling the individual to carry out all general HR procedures without training.
· Able to manage own workload and be self-motivated with a positive and proactive approach.
· Previous work experience within a construction / utilities environment would be advantageous.
· Previous experience with field based workers would be advantageous.
· Able to juggle a wide variety of tasks and demands.
· Have confidence to be able to manage situations and make decisions on the spot.
· Able to build and maintain relationships with a variety of people from all levels of the business internally and a flexible approach to differing situations and people.
· Must be discrete, ethical and professional at all times.
· Attention to detail is essential.
· Knowledge of MS Office and able to use other computer systems.
Please be aware that whilst this is a stand-alone role there is availability of a HR consultancy for guidance where needed.
Travel
· Attendance to other Invincible Drain Care offices will be required as applicable to carry out responsibilities.
