This is a great opportunity to undertake a varied HR role on a part time basis, working 20 - 24 hours per week, across 4 days with genuine flexibility available for start/ finish times.
The role:
You will be leading and supporting the development and implementation of HR policies across the business in Bedford - joining at a time where you can make a real impact.
Responsibilities:
- Staff recruitment and checking right to work, whilst issuing HR related paperwork according to statutory obligations
- Induction, training and coordination of new employees
- Dealing with day-to-day HR queries advising in line with the current policies and procedures, with utmost confidentiality, escalating matters to management when necessary
- Collating employee hours and absences for payroll purposes
- Implementation of disciplinary and grievance procedures
- Ensuring effective performance management plans are in place and followed
- Adhering to compliance and employment law
- Planning employee training as required
- Ensuring that health and safety procedures are in place
- Staff holidays, sanctioning and maintaining records
- Monitoring staff absences and undertaking formal Return to Work interviews
- Undertaking regular capability reviews and appraisals with all staff
- Take minutes during meetings ensuring that events are accurately documented during and after disciplinary, well-being and review processes
- Regular meetings with the department heads re staffing/associated problems
- Training & Development
- Ad hoc HR administrative related tasks
The ideal candidate:
- CIPD qualification desirable but not essential
- General hands-on HR experience
- People orientated & confident in delivering basic training
- High IT literacy and proficiency
- Excellent communication, both spoken and written
- An approachable, fair and open manner
- Accuracy and great attention to detail
- The ability to remain calm under pressure
- A team player!
This permanent, part time role will be paying £16,000 £19,000 per annum (£34,000 FTE), plus benefits.
