Interim Housing Strategy ManagerLocation: LondonSalary: £443.10 per day umbrellaWe are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Interim Housing Strategy Manager to join a Local Authority in Central London. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the strategic improvement initiatives within the housing sector. This position requires a strong analytically mindset, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across teams and departments.General Duties:Adopting an agile approach to deliver objectives quickly and efficiently.Providing efficient management of and accountability for staff, including recruitment, development, and performance management.Working as part of cross-functional project teams, ensuring delivery to a high standard.Managing risk effectively and supporting senior leadership to deliver on commitments.Understanding and navigating external inspection frameworks impacting Housing Services, with experience in managing or supporting inspections.Establishing positive working relationships with staff at all levels, corporate colleagues, elected members, and external organisations.Understanding local authority governance, decision-making processes, scrutiny, and performance reporting against Council Plans.Specific Duties:Lead and support the delivery of critical housing projects.Produce and present consistently high-quality reports to meet the requirements of the Leadership Team.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute strategic projects and initiatives.Monitor and evaluate the performance of strategic initiatives, making adjustments as necessary.Provide strategic guidance and support to senior leadership.Prepare and present reports and presentations to communicate improvement and strategic plans and progress.Stay informed about trends and best practices in housing strategy, development, and execution to facilitate decision-making, service transformation, and commissioning.Manage and advise upon political processes, ensuring quality, clarity, and consistency in the Department's interactions with elected members and senior officers.Scope the demands and maintain oversight of external inspection frameworks, ensuring appropriate preparations are made in advance and that service improvement activities are identified and implemented.Ensure resources are available to provide advice and expertise on consultation, engagement, and co-design of services or service improvements with residents and partners.Ensure issues of diversity and equality inform service development and changes, providing strategic advice and guidance on meeting statutory responsibilities.Develop appropriate reporting through various governance forums.Top Skills:Agile project managementExcellent communication skills in writing and presentationsEfficient management and accountability for staffCross-functional project team collaborationRisk management and delivery supportUnderstanding of external inspection frameworksInterpersonal skills and relationship buildingLocal authority governance and decision-making understandingRequirements:Extensive expertise in housing strategyProven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
