About the roleWe have a permanent opportunity for a Housing Policy Officer to join our team, working in a hybrid style comprising of two days a week in our office in Oldham, and the remaining three days from home.Engaging with subject matter experts, project teams, and residents, you'll deliver customer facing policies and procedures that are focused on compliance with relevant laws and regulations, enable Guinness to achieve our strategic goals; and contribute to the continuous improvement of our services.What we're looking forWe're a customer service business so we know that how we do things is just as important as what we do. You'll have a good understanding of housing management practice and housing law. You'll also have great awareness of how what we do affects the customer, so you will seek to improve the customer experience.You'll be able to demonstrate:Essential Skills / ExperienceKnowledge of landlord and tenant law, housing regulation and the public policy context in which Guinness operatesExperience of working in the social housing sector, or equivalentAble to use judgement, influence and negotiation to deliver desired resultsAble to research, critically evaluate, and accurately interpret information from multiple sourcesAble to innovate and find creative solutions to resolve problemsAble to gain a deep understanding of specialist subjects, as requiredGood understanding of the role policies and procedures play in achieving business compliance, improving customer service and supporting organisational changeExcellent oral and written communication skillsExcellent knowledge of Microsoft Office and equivalent IT packages.DesirableExperience of developing policies and proceduresExperience of project managementExperience of stakeholder managementExperience of report writingKnowledge and experience of applying continuous improvement methodologies.And the following: Process mapping skills; andKnowledge and experience of continuous improvement methodologies.Essential QualificationsEducated to degree level or equivalent.CIH Level 3 Certificate in Housing Practice, or equivalent relevant professional qualification and/or experience.Please review the attached role profile if you're interested in finding out more about the key responsibilities of the role and/or to check you meet the essential criteria.The Guinness Partnership is an equal opportunities employer.
