Job Title: Housing Options Advisor
Location: Work from home with occasional need to visit the Kettering office (NN15) or 3 days work from home a week and 2 days in the Kettering office (NN15) dependent on team
Hourly Pay Rate: �24.62
Hours: 37 per week, Monday to Friday
Length of the contract: Until end of June 2024
Gi Group are now seeking to appoint Housing Option Advisors to our Public Sector client based in Kettering. The Housing Options Advisor will work in either the Making Decisions Team or the New Cases Team.
Duties of the Housing Options Advisor

• Making decisions in line with Part VII of the Housing Act following the end of the relief period.
• Making main duty decisions under S193 or intentionally homeless decisions.
• Conducting face to face interviews.
• Working on new cases in approach to triage them and complete relevant homelessness enquiries to determine if a duty is involved.
• Gathering information and interviewing homeless approaches.

Role Criteria

• Educated to degree level standard or equivalent or demonstrable suitable experience.
• Awareness of legislation relating to housing advice, homelessness, housing management and the allocation of housing, with a good practical understanding of the range of housing problems people may experience.
• Broad knowledge and understanding of the housing and support needs of homeless and housing applications and tenants.
• Experience of dealing with a diverse and vulnerable clientele in housing/homeless related environment.
• Experience of producing high quality written communications to a corporate standard.
• Experience of using different IT systems in order to manage caseloads, monitor delivery of targets, and drive improved service.
• Willingness to undertake a Standard or Enhanced DBS dependent on team.
