Job Description:We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Swale and Maidstone to assist with the appointment of a Housing Accountant, on a 2-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.Responsibilities:Run & reconcile weekly reports period end reports, arrear report, prepayments for current and former residents, debit run.Check weekly that new tenancies, tenancy ends, tenancy changes are on the debit run report and check a sample of rent accounts to make sure the debit has hit their account.Accurately reconciling control accounts.Proactively liaising with the Rents and Income team in identifying and resolving suspense items and other anomalies on rent accounts.Make proposals around potential write off with the housing team for approval by Head of Housing then Finance Director (appropriate governance).Ensure Weekly Rent reconciliation and Weekly Closedowns are completed.Qualifications:A good level of general education including 5 x A*-C GCSE or equivalent and a specific aptitude for Maths, English, and I.T.Relevant equivalent experience in Rent accounting and having worked in a Local Government or Housing Association.Prior experience of working in financial and housing environment, preferably within a local government or housing association setting.Proven experience of effective team working.Extensive experience working in a Microsoft-based business environment.A proven track record of effectively managing demanding workloads and problem solving.Please note:You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.You should have right to work in U.KDisclaimer: Brackenberry Ltd is acting as an Employment Business in relation to this vacancy.
