Horticultural Technical Sales Manager

We are working in partnership with a market-leading group of companies to recruit a Horticultural Technical Manager who will promote and accelerate the expansion of sales of horticultural foliar and speciality fertilisers across England.
Key tasks include:
To achieve annual volume and revenue targets as agreed. To do so by selling to large and influential growers based on sound and appropriate technical advice. Principle focus will be on soft fruit, top fruit, protected edibles and ornamental crops.
Develop close working relationships with distributors and independent agronomists. Support them on the farm if required. Influence their decision-making process to promote product range where technically appropriate.
Prepare, agree and implement a comprehensive sales plan to achieve sales growth and deliver exceptional customer service.
Develop technical expertise in a particular crop sector (e.g. such as protected veg or soft fruit). Develop technical expertise in particular product groups (e.g. plant health promoters).
Candidates ideally will have both BASIS and FACTS certifications for horticulture. Individuals will need to demonstrate a successful commercial and technical track record in the horticulture sector. The successful candidate will be highly self-motivated, tenacious and have the stature, technical authority and right interpersonal skills to develop strong personal relationships both with customers and colleagues.
