Highly Specialist Physiotherapist: Paediatric MSK

Your role will be to provide specialist physiotherapy input to children and young people with MSK conditions . You will predominantly have an Out-patient and clinic based caseload, but will be required to support in-patient areas at times. You will be responsible for leading the paediatric MSK physiotherapy service alongside the other paediatric MSK Physio band 7s. The successful post holder will be required to work Wednesday - Friday and will also be included on the rostered weekend working rota too. Necessary training will be provided.Main duties of the jobYou will: Have close liaison and working with the MSK MDT. Provide physiotherapy management of children and young people with MSK conditions. Provide physio cover for MSK clinics. Have excellent communication and team working skills and will also have a passion about working with children. Assist in the management and support of all other grades of staff within the wider paediatric physiotherapy team to provide input to MSK patients to allow you to develop your leadership, managerial and teaching skills. Support students on their clinical placements. Communicate with and support physio staff providing care to MSK patients. Have enthusiasm for the management and service development of the paediatric MSK service.About usThe Nottingham Children's Hospital (NCH) is based at the Queens Medical Centre campus and is part of Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust (NUH). BSc Hons (or equivalent) Physiotherapy Full Health and Care Professional Council (HCPC) registration Recognised post-graduate training relevant to specialty preferably including MSc or completed modules

Wide ranging and extensive experience of working within specialist area Knowledge of current best practice within a clinical specialty

Able to discuss treatment options and recommend best course of intervention to patients and carers using negotiating, persuasive, motivational and reassurance skills Communicate complex patient related information effectively to ensure collaborative working with MDT colleagues across health & social care sectors

Analyse information from clinical assessments and make judgements about appropriate interventions for highly complex patients Able to make decisions about the treatment needs of highly complex patients Lead on the development of improvements in service delivery and clinical practice using evidence based practice to recommend changes
Planning and organisation skillsEssential
Able to plan the delivery of a service for a specialist area where there is variable capacity and fluctuating demand Able to organise and plan the activity of staff and self
Physical skillsEssential
Able to handle and move complex patients safely and in a way which promotes rehabilitation if applicable. Able to use and/or manoeuvre a range of medical devices including, for example, handling/assistive and anthropometric equipment if applicable.
