Title: Highly Specialist Occupational Therapist - Brain injury
Location: South East London
Job type: Permanent
Salary: £53,100 - £55,790 + company benefits
I am looking for a dedicated and experienced Highly Specialist Occupational Therapist for my client in South East London. They are looking for an OT with experience with patients with brain injuries (experience equivalent to Band 7) to join their therapy team.
**Please note, we are unable to sponsor visas. We require the Right to Work in the UK.**
Responsibilities:
Deputise for the Lead Occupational Therapist when required and be a focal point of the team within the community.
Develop, carry out, and generalise safe, innovative, evidence-based treatments, underpinned by the principles of neuroplasticity and motor re-learning.
Plan and prioritise a complex clinical caseload.
Assist the MDT in diagnosis, problem formulation and planning of rehabilitation programmes.
Function as a Key Worker/Named Therapist to ensure active coordination and management of the therapeutic programme to achieve the agreed rehabilitation goals.
Play a key role in planning safe discharges.
Prescribe and provide equipment for our patients during their rehabilitation journey.
Provide intervention as part of an MDT approach and be involved in MDT service developments.
Maintain records and clinical notes in line with company policy and RCOT guidelines.
Ensure effective and timely communication at all levels (with patients, families, the MDT and external agencies).
Develop and deliver in-service education and training programme for the wider MDT.
Supervise junior members of staff such as Band 6 therapists, assistants, and students.
Keep people safe from harm and protect their human rights
Qualifications/requirements:
HCPC registration
RCOT registration
Previous experience of working in a
neurorehabilitation
setting
Ability to motivate patients over long periods
Successful candidates will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS
