THIS POST IS FIXED TERM/SECONDMENT FOR 6 MONTHS DUE TO MATERNITY COVER IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN APPLYING FOR THE SECONDMENT POSITION, YOU MUST OBTAIN PERMISSION FROM YOUR CURRENT LINE MANAGER PRIOR TO APPLYING FOR THIS POST An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, experienced Dietitian to join the Nutrition and Dietetic Service in Swansea Bay University Health Board for 6 months due to maternity cover. This is a temporary part time post, working 30 hours per week based in Morriston Hospital.Main duties of the jobThis post would be suitable for a highly motivated dietitian who already has sound knowledge and experience of working with patients with a diverse adult clinical caseload including pancreatic disease in surgical and critical care settings. You will work closely with the MDT to provide seamless dietetic care along the patients pathway within and outside Health Board boundaries. You will manage a caseload of adult patients with pancreatic disease and will receive training and support as required. You will enjoy the support of a senior mentor and be expected to supervise and mentor student dietitians, Dietetic Assistants and junior staff. We offer departmental CPD time to support your development and are committed to the development of teaching and presentation skills, evidenced based practice, research and clinical audit. You will be supported in attending relevant professional networking meetings and interest groups. We are approved for student placements 1,2 and 3. We have good support from administrative and Dietetic Assistants. The Health Board has University status with Colleges of Medicine on site. B.Sc Nutrition and Dietetics or equivalent HCPC Registered Post registration training in relevant area
Desirable
Student Clinical Educators Course Recognised management/ leadership qualification.
KnowledgeEssential
Evidence of a wide variety of clinical knowledge MSc or its equivalent level of knowledge +advanced post graduate training/experience in relevant areas.
ExperienceEssential
Experience of working as a Specialist Dietitian in Nutrition and Dietetics within specialist area such as gastroenterology, surgery or critical care. Experience of a high level specialist knowledge of service delivery in a variety of different settings. Experience of supervising/mentoring staff. Experience of Audit and Quality Improvement Methodology.
