List of Duties / Work Programme / Responsibilities

You will be part of a small team responsible for development, procurement, commissioning and operation of high-power RF systems for the various product development projects and be responsible for:-

  • Operation of existing high power RF systems during lab testing.
  • Development of new RF systems within the ESAM laboratory, Schematic Layouts.
  • Design and manufacture high power RF systems for WPT-EV field demonstrators.

You will work closely with other RF engineers and scientists, mechanical designers, and external contractors to continuously develop and improve these high-power RF systems.
About You
Candidates must be highly motivated engineers or scientists. They should be qualified to degree level or equivalent in a relevant science or engineering subject, have experience with high power RF technologies and ideally have an interest in RF aspects of Wireless Power Transfer.
Essential Skills:

  • BEng/BSc in Electrical, Electronics, Physics or relevant science degree (S)
  • RF experience (preferably at high power levels)
  • Demonstrate a record of achievement in RF system design
  • Experience of managing resources
  • Prepared to travel both within the UK and abroad
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and occasional shifts

Desirable Skills:

  • Demonstrate examples of relevant project work with high power RF systems which may include:-
  • High power RF components
  • Solid state RF amplifiers
  • Waveguide distribution systems
  • RF control experience
  • Knowledge of high voltage power supply
  • MEng in Electrical, Electronics or RF Engineering (S)
  • PhD in Electrical, Electronics, RF Engineering or Physics (S)
  • Chartered status (S)
