Job Title: Heavy Vehicle Technical Trainer



Location: Loughborough



Salary: �36,000 per annum (plus bonus)



Contract: Full-Time





Summary and Main Purpose:



As a Heavy Vehicle Technical Trainer, you will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality training to apprentices enrolled in heavy vehicle apprenticeship programs. Utilizing your expertise in the Heavy Vehicle Repair & Maintenance sector, you will inspire and motivate learners at the outset of their careers. Working closely with the curriculum and training teams, you will facilitate engaging and interactive learning experiences, both practical and virtual, that lead to successful outcomes.





Role Responsibilities:






  • Plan and deliver well-structured, high-quality learning experiences tailored to learner needs, promoting rapid learning and application of new knowledge and skills in the workplace.

  • Establish positive and respectful working relationships with learners, motivating and inspiring them through interactive and engaging teaching methods to promote timely achievement and positive progression.

  • Collaborate with the curriculum design team to contribute to the ongoing development of session plans and resources, ensuring positive outcomes and timely achievement for learners.

  • Provide fair and constructive assessment methods, offering timely feedback to support learner improvement, rapid progression, and achievement.

  • Maintain accurate records of individual learning and progress, intervening promptly to support learners who may be falling behind.

  • Support the learning process by utilizing learning resources effectively and providing guidance to learners on independent learning skills.

  • Offer effective information, advice, and guidance to learners, employers, and other stakeholders throughout the learner journey.

  • Maintain safe and inclusive learning environments, promoting Health and Safety, Safeguarding, Prevent, equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI), and British values.

  • Support learner progression in English and Maths functional skills qualifications up to Level 2, utilizing initial and diagnostic assessment to promote progress.

  • Liaise with the Learning Support Coach team and support SEND learners to accommodate individual barriers to learning.

  • Foster effective links with employers, coaching work supervisors to provide support and guidance and facilitating workplace on-the-job training.

  • Contribute to quality improvement activities, including self-assessment processes, internal verification procedures, and responding to learner feedback.

  • Demonstrate the companies Brand Values and incorporate relevant client culture and values within program delivery.

  • Stay informed about sector and educational developments, participate in training and development activities, and maintain professional standards.





Essential/Desirable Criteria:






  • Relevant vehicle maintenance and repair vocational qualification at level 3.

  • Good standard of English and Maths.

  • Minimum of two years of recent relevant industrial experience in the motor vehicle academic or vocational field.

  • Teaching or training experience preferred but not essential.

  • Excellent subject knowledge with a passion for the sector.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • Basic IT skills.

  • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize workload under pressure.

  • Awareness of Safeguarding responsibilities.

  • Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion.

  • Full valid driving license.

  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
