Band 5 - Paediatric Audiologist - Healthcare Science Practitioner (Audiology) 1 WTE Band 5 - Audiologist - Healthcare Science Practitioner (Audiology) 1 WTE We are searching for 2 motivated and enthusiastic healthcare science practitioners (Audiology) to join our team. We are a UKAS accredited service since 2013 and you will be fully supported with training and a preceptorship scheme when joining the team. We provide a monthly dedicated training session for all staff which includes case studies and external speakers, providing excellent opportunities to ensure your CPD is maintained. You will have a BSc Audiology (or equivalent), and have or be working towards AHCS / RCCP registration and will be a member of either BSA or BAA.
For the paediatric role, you should be able to demonstrate experience in / or a particular desire to train in paediatric Audiology. Please be advised there is a proposed interview date of 17th May 2024.Main duties of the jobWe provide a full adult & paediatric Audiology service across Coventry and Rugby and you will work across both sites. For the paediatric role, this will also includethe City of Coventry Health Centre
The audiologist role is predominantly within the adult service which includes routine hearing assessment and hearing aid fitting, hearing aid repairs, ENT clinics and general day to day Audiology. For the paediatric role, we are looking for someone who is interested in paediatric audiology and is keen to learn and engage in paediatric testing. You will be expected to be able to demonstrate a caring and compassionate nature, with good interpersonal and communication skills. The ability to manage a busy and varied workload in a timely manner is essential. These investigations, procedures or processes must also be interpreted and reported to the patient and others involved in his/her care.The following may be undertaken: diagnostic tympanometry diagnostic reflexes reflex decay diagnostic OAEs speech audiometry. CommunicationClinical advice and information must be provided to healthcare and other professionals, patients and their carers to support effective assessment, diagnosis, management and treatment of patients.
