Irwin and Colton has been engaged by Optima Group, an international leader in glass partitioning systems and solutions to recruit a Health, Safety, Quality and Environment Director. Optima Group are a global leader in the design, manufacturing and installing of glass partitioning, doors and architectural glass. This is a unique opportunity to join a leader in this space, working on many of the UK's most iconic construction projects.
Optima Systems are looking for a creative, innovative, individual with new ideas who can ensure their health, safety, environment and quality program continues to deliver to the highest standard.
Responsibilities for the Health, Safety, Quality and Environment Director will include:

  • To champion the development and maintenance of "best in class" HSQE systems for the across the group
  • To plan, undertake and report meaningful and valuable audits of all aspects to enable a culture of dialogue and continual improvement.
  • Prepare annual Internal Audit schedule for ISO9001, ISO14001and ISO45001 that reflect compliance with standard and perform audits (including those of suppliers and subcontractors).
  • Working with the Board and senior stakeholders to develop and continually refine the health and safety strategy and to ensure compliance across the group
  • Leading the Health and Safety team ensuring the successful delivery of the strategy across the business, keeping all stakeholders updated with changes to legislation or policy


The successful Health, Safety, Quality and Environment Director will have:

  • Proven leadership experience in a similar role ideally within construction or related industry
  • Experience in influencing, engaging and coaching senior management and site level operations
  • A NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) and ideally Chartership of IOSH or working towards Chartership
  • Experience with innovative across health and safety, wellbeing and behavioural programmes
