Health & Safety Manager

Allen & York are working with an established family business working in the Transport, Environmental and Waste Management Solution sector working alongside some of the UK's leading energy and water utility suppliers. They work with both commercial and domestic customers providing services across the West Midlands and across the UK.
This role is to champion and lead the delivery of the strategic agenda for health and safety across our organisation. You will play a pivotal role in the development of the safety and environmental culture contributing to the company mission.
A key aspect of the role will be to provide technical knowledge, expertise and advice on all aspects of health and safety best practice, you will be both a strategic planner, with exceptional leadership and influencing skills, but retain your practical ability to roll up your sleeves and get stuck in to support the team in the field as required.
Reporting to the Group H&S Manager, this role will act as a key advisor to the business retaining critical insight of the day-to-day functions whilst communicating openly to management for continuous improvement across all functions.
Candidates should be experienced in Health & Safety Management ideally within the transport or utility sector working across multi-functional sites and individual workers on site. Candidates should be qualified to GradIOSH (CertIOSH) and have their own transport.
The role is a mix of site vs travel so candidates should be flexible in their approach to the needs of the business as required.
