/ Position: Health & Safety Manager
/ Location: Bournemouth or Farnborough (Hybrid working can be agreed)
/ Working Hours: Full-Time, 40 Hours per week
We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Health and Safety Manager to join our H&S Team based at either our Farnborough or Bournemouth site. This is an exciting and varied role that will be overseeing the Health and Safety components of the Management System across all of our UK based sites and unique contract operations, including Engineering Hubs, Air Ambulance, Rotary Operations and more! Reporting to the Head of Safety, the successful individual will be a Level 6 health and safety practitioner, with a good understanding and experience of health and safety in aviation and/or aircraft engineering.
The Health and Safety Manager has 3 direct reports and works in collaboration with the Safety Manager (Form 4 holder) for aviation safety, to deliver an effective Safety Management System (SMS). The strategic objectives for this position will be to; assure health and safety standards are being met across the 20 sites in the UK (through internal audit), maintain the company’s ISO 45001 accreditation and continually review/improve the health and safety policies, processes, risk assessments and training to ensure that they are appropriate and accessible to all workers.

/ Responsibilities:
Line management of the HSE staff and guidance to the HSE Representatives
Provision of HSE resources, products and services across the company
Oversight and continuous improvement of HSE across the company
Management and monitoring of the HSE budget and spend against it
Management and monitoring of HSE related contracts (products and services)
Maintenance/continuation of the ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 approvals/certifications
Maintenance/periodic review of HSE policies, procedures, manuals and other documentation
Oversight of HSE incident/accident/hazard reports and investigations
Provision of HSE data/reports to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and Board
Review and deliver against HSE strategic objectives in collaboration with the SLT
Promotion and communication of HSE across the company
Provision of appropriate HSE training across the company
Support to bids and projects, through completion of PQQs
/ Skills, Qualifications and Experience required:
Essential
Possess a Level 6 (Diploma)/Degree or equivalent qualification in Health and Safety
Sound experience within Health and Safety, and excellent knowledge of H&S regulations that are applicable to an Engineering environment
Worked within an Health & Safety position within Aviation, Engineering, Manufacturing or highly regulated environment
Good knowledge of ISO 14001 and 45001
Highly proficient in IT (must be able to use Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
Excellent oral and written communication (must be able to confidently present and write high quality reports)
Confident individual with effective communication skills at all levels and across all disciplines, who is organised with a high attention to detail
Ability to travel to other UK sites as required
