Salary: Up to £39,000*Hours: Monday to Friday on site (adhoc weekends).Join us as our Health and Safety Officer Lead, sharing the vision and coaching our depot in the importance of SHEQ and the wellbeing of our Kettering depot team. Joining us as our Health and Safety Officer, you play a critical part in embedding consistent safety practises with sole site responsibility.Empower your site with H&S activities, engagement and compliance. This is a great opportunity to utilise your logistics H&S experience in a generalist safety and wellbeing opportunity, reporting into our Regional H&S Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage site H&S in accordance with our Wincanton’s SHE procedures.
Ensure best safety practise is in place to meet our high standards internally and for our customer.
Support and manage site training records.
Co-ordinate site H&S activities (ex. Committees, training and communications to ensure the site remains compliant).
Assist/undertake risk assessments and create SSOW’s as required.
Produce reports and support the delivery of safety across the network utilising IT systems.
Ensure compliance when dealing with all H&S matters inc accident investigation and RIDDOR reports.
Liaise with site leaders and site management teams, sharing and defining problems and devise solutions.
Carry out site inspections and conduct audits, manage and drive safety plans to continue with our safety culture.
This role is based on site, 40 hours Monday to Friday day shift (with adhoc weekends).*Salary up to £39,000 dependent on level of experience
What will you bring to our team:
Proven experience of being an effective team member who is driven to achieve results through self-motivation.
Strong communication experience with internal and external clients.
Meticulous attention to detail and experience in continuous improvement.
Knowledge of safety environment within Transport preferable.
Proven experience to resolve multiple and/or complex issues under pressure.
IOSH qualified required as a minimum (NEBOSH qualification preferred or working towards).
Experience in supervisory position in a strong H&S Logistics/Transport environment.
