Location: SouthamptonSalary: £50K- £55K per YearContract: PermanentType: Full Time Reference: SHEA280324_1711639642 Posted: March 28, 2024My client a Tier 1 Construction and Civil Engineering contractor with multiple offices nationwide are seeking to employ on a permanent basis a Health, Safety & Environmental Advisor within the south coast. Working on a wide range of schemes including newbuild, refurbishment & extension build projects for both private and public sector clients, projects ranging from £100K - £500M.They are seeking to employ on a permanent basis a HSE Advisor with a solid construction/ civil engineering background.Ideally, you will be based around the Hampshire/ Dorset region, with multiple projects along the South Coast. Covering up to 6 sites at once.Key Accountabilities:Keep up to date with the latest HSQE requirements including legislation an best practice.Provide support to the directors and management teams in all aspects of HSQE setting the highest standards by personal example.Ensure Site Management is aware of and provided with up-to-date HSQE documentationAdvise and propose on policy and procedure amendment as required to meet the changing needs of the company and continual improvement.Represent the company to clients and other external parties including the relevant enforcement agencies.Assist in the facilitation of external audits to external certification organizations and other external bodies.Assist with HSQE requirements at pre-qualification and bid stages.Assist with the preparation of risk assessments and method statements where appropriate for the project teams.Conduct HSQE Audits and Inspections on sites and for premisesInvestigate accidents and incidents preparing detailed reports with recommendations as directed by the Head of HSQELiaise with insurers in respect of claims and investigations for incidents including motor related incidents.Assist with the preparation of various HSQE Awareness briefings, toolbox talks, alerts etc. in line with operational requirements.Attend meetings both internal and external to represent the HSQE team as appropriate.Actively promote and support the Right Works programme partaking in joint reviews with divisional directors for the annual awards.Individual Accountabilities:Be clear on your responsibilities and strive to deliver what is expected, taking time to think, plan, and reflect on progress.Actively contribute to improving our business through our Right Works programme.Help others to succeed and acknowledge the success of others.Understand your personal responsibilities to maintaining our HSQE standards.Understand our company policies and procedures and recommend improvements.Understand how your actions impact positively and negatively on our reputation.Allow our guiding principles to guide you in your work.Challenge how things are done to improve productivity.Exploit opportunities to learn.Challenge behaviour that does not create an inclusive environment.About You:Previous experience within the civils/ construction sectors.NEBOSH general certificate, or equivalent CEnv, or equivalentExtensive experience within a civil engineering environmentEffective communicator with strong presentation and report writing skills Client facing experienceAnalytical skills to interpret detailed information and regulationsHigh standard of written EnglishAbility to work to and meet tight deadlinesGood communication skills, including professional telephone mannerAbility to liaise with staff and operatives at all levelsProficiency in using Microsoft Office packageCSCS Safety Professional cardAbility to work as a member of a team, but also capable of working aloneHigh quality standards, e.g. attention to detail Ability to lead by/set a good exampleA passion for Health, Safety, Environment & QualityMy client is prepared to offer a very attractive and comprehensive benefits package by offering a comprehensive range of attractive options to help support your career on top of a competitive salary.Generous holiday entitlement, increasing with years of service, plus the opportunity to purchase further holidaysA wide range of corporate discountsCycle to Work schemesRegular Save as You Earn share purchase schemePrivate medical scheme options are available for all salaried employees and our employee assistance programme also provides free 24/7 support to those who need itPaid for yearly membership to one recognised professional association relevant to your roleFor more information please contact Claire spiers at Fawkes & Reece (South) on 07749578588 or email #####
