We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced HSE Lead to join our client’s team in Deeside. Our client is a leading manufacturer in the Paper manufacturing industry and is renowned for its commitment to high-quality paper manufacturing.
This role is overall responsible for the Health, Safety and Environment systems and processes within our client. They will ensure compliance of the site with all laws, regulations, code of practice and guidance associated with Health, Safety & Environment. They will be responsible for implementing the necessary controls needed to comply and meet relevant standards to prevent incidents, protect employees and the environment.
Main Responsibilities
•Carry out risk assessment and site inspections to identify and evaluate potential on site hazards. Work on elimination of these risk and implement the required health, safety and environment policies and procedures that protect workers from harm.
•Ensuring that both supervisors and workers are adhering to all relevant health, safety and environment regulations, policies and procedures through regular compliance monitoring.
•Ensure any material, equipment or work practices are compliant with relevant legislation.
•If an Environmental or Safety incident or near-miss incident occurs, this role is to ensure that a thorough investigation is carried out. Once investigation is complete, ensuring that any required reporting to authorities is done, and internal communication or corrective action is fully implemented.
•Maintain accurate records of all safety and environmental risk assessments, site inspections, investigations and any compliance related information.
•Arrange for all staff at all levels, receive the appropriate, accredited health and safety training.
•Management of all waste streams ensuring compliance with appropriate legislation and internal procedures.
•Support the construction phase of our client’s project, ensuring it meets environmental and safety requirements.
•Provide day to day support for our client’s offices in terms of safety and environmental compliance and requirements.
REQUIREMENT
•Previous experience working in Safety and / Environment.
•Strong collaboration skills
•Practical experience of assurance and / or auditing processes, reporting, KPIs and performance insights
•Ability to analyse data, synthesise information and report writing to propose and action plan
•Experience of working across multiple streams of activities with conflicting priorities
•Chartered member of IOSH or equivalent professional body or working towards this.
•Health, Safety & Environment Experience within a construction environment.
