Job Description: We are seeking a skilled Health & Safety Coordinator to join their team in Alfreton. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining and improving their health and safety standards within a manufacturing environment. Reporting to the Health & Safety Manager, the Health & Safety Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and implementing best practices to promote a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of health and safety policies, procedures, and systems.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Provide support and guidance to employees on health and safety matters, including training programs and toolbox talks.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Collaborate with department managers to address health and safety concerns and promote a culture of safety awareness.
- Maintain records of health and safety activities, including incident reports, risk assessments, and training records.
- Keep abreast of changes in health and safety legislation and industry best practices, and ensure compliance with ISO Management Systems.
- Participate in health and safety meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Health & Safety Coordinator or similar role, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of health and safety legislation and regulations, including ISO Management Systems.
- NEBOSH or equivalent qualification in Occupational Health and Safety.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with employees at all levels.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and flexible approach.
- Proficient computer skills, including MS Office applications.
