We are looking for a new full-time team member to assist in presenting our range of bespoke and more formal accredited Nebosh and IOSH courses as we approach our 27th year.
Cambridge Safety is a small partnership providing a range of bespoke H&S training courses for clients, along with an extensive portfolio of accredited IOSH and Nebosh H&S and environmental qualifications. Training is provided at our training facilities in Peterborough and at client’s premises nationally but primarily in the East of England.
Some travel involved but not on a daily basis, with occasional over night stays. The purpose of this role is to assist and support the Occupational Health, Safety &Environmental Manager and senior partner of Cambridge Safety LLP with the co-ordination, provision and delivery of an effective high-quality Health & Safety training service ensuring compliance with the relevant current best practice standards and legislation.
Training & Presentations
Tutoring and presenting a range of bespoke health and safety training courses at our training centre or on client’s premises.
Becoming a registered IOSH Managing Safely trainer to teach the course as an open course at Cambridge Safety premises and at client premises.
Presenting parts of our portfolio of Nebosh Certificate level qualifications.
Developing bespoke H&S training packages to meet client needs.
Reviewing and updating H&S training packages, handouts & slides to ensure they are up to date and use up to date examples and cases.
Recording presentations for video and podcasts to support our delegate’s study towards recognized H&S qualifications.
Assisting in the setting up of training facilities and welcoming delegates as they arrive.
Marking of delegates’ assessments and course work and providing suitable feedback to assist them.
Providing delegate feedback sessions by telephone, face to face or via video call.
Completing interviews & discussions to check students they have met the criteria of their chosen H&S qualification and assessment
Writing and developing case studies to support our range of training courses
Qualifications
Essential:
Nebosh General or Construction certificate, Technical member of IOSH
Useful:
Nebosh H&S Diploma, Nebosh Fire Certificate, Working towards CMIOSH
Essential:
Adult training qualification at level 3 on a regulated qualifications framework
Essential:
2 years substantial face to face training experience
Please note as we specialize in Nebosh qualifications you will need to have achieved your H&S qualifications via Nebosh rather than any other qualification or NVQ.
If you have studied with us you will know our approach to training making it fun and informative utilising a range of different learning methods.
Experience
Although this is a trainer role the suitable person will need to have experience of working within an organisation in a H&S related role as well as working as a trainer.
This is to ensure that this practical experience can be used to bring the training sessions to life. Development opportunities will be available for the right candidate to develop their skills and achieve CMIOSH and to develop in Environmental Management or Fire Safety.
Personal Characteristics
Excellent presentational skills, with a professional manner but with the use of a sense of humour. Friendly & confident manner, able to communicate with employees and managers of all levels and explain complex topics effectively.
Ability to adapt courses and training style to meet individual and client needs Self-motivated, enthusiastic with a positive approach to any situation and willing to learn and develop
Ability to work as part of a small team and undertake whatever other duties are
needed to meet the needs of the business and our wide range of customers.
To be able to work without direct supervision

Must live within 45 miles of our training centre in Peterborough
Full driving license
We are a dog-friendly environment so the candidate will need to be comfortable
