Health & Safety Officer

Salary Range:��30,000

Location:�Cardiff

Contract type:�Full time, permanent

Working hours:�Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm

As a skilled and experienced Health & Safety Officer you will be responsible for ensuring that our organisation complies with all relevant legislation and regulations. You will also be responsible for identifying and mitigating potential health & safety, and food safety risks, and for promoting a culture of safety throughout the organisation.

Responsibilities:

• Developing and implementing Health & Safety and Food Safety policies and procedures


• Conducting risk assessments and identifying potential hazards in the workplace


• Developing and delivering Health & Safety and Food Safety training to staff members


• Investigating accidents and incidents and recommending corrective actions


• Ensuring that all equipment and machinery is properly maintained and safe for use.


• Keeping up to date with all relevant Health & Safety and Food Safety legislation and regulations


• Collaborating with other team members to implement safety initiatives and procedures.


• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date Health & Safety and Food Safety records


• Conducting regular Health & Safety and Food Safety audits and inspections


• Developing emergency response plans and procedures


• Providing advice and guidance on Health & Safety and Food Safety issues to staff members and management

Skills:

• Proven experience as a Health and Safety Officer or similar role


• Excellent knowledge of health and safety legislation and regulations


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills


• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills


• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.


• Excellent organisational and time-management skills


• Ability to develop and deliver effective health and safety training programs.


• NEBOSH Certificates


• Other relevant health and safety qualifications
