Health and Safety Manager (Construction) Position Overview:
We are seeking a qualified Health and Safety Manager to oversee all aspects of health and safety within our construction projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
Developing and implementing safety policies and procedures
Conducting risk assessments
Providing training to employees and contractors
Requirements:
3+ years of Construction Experience
Site Visits – New home developments, office blocks, and apartments in Birmingham City centre
£50+ million sites
Clean driving license
Knowledge of CDM 2015
Good I.T. skills
Ensure construction accreditations such as CHAS and Constructionline are achieved and renewed
Construction NEBOSH preferred; General NEBOSH considered
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive health and safety policies and procedures
Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify hazards, assess risks, and ensure compliance with safety standards
Collaborate with project managers, site supervisors, and subcontractors to address safety concerns
Provide guidance and support to employees on health and safety matters
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to identify root causes
Maintain accurate records of health and safety activities
Stay informed about emerging trends, regulations, and technologies in health and safety management
Liaise with regulatory agencies, clients, and other stakeholders on health and safety matters
Manage the procurement and maintenance of safety equipment and personal protective gear
Promote a culture of safety awareness and continuous improvement throughout the organisation
