We have warehouses across the UK with the primary flagship site in Wellesbourne.As Health and Safety Manager you will be expected to work with operations managers across the group's sites to manage health and safety, ensure a safe working environment, facilitate a consistent approach to Health and Safety and investigate any incidents.You will report directly to the board of directors to ensure that Health and Safety issues are brought to the attention of the senior management.The role offers a great opportunity for career development to pick up responsibility for Health and Safety in a multi location business.The goal is to ensure the workplace meets all legal expectations and actively supports occupational health and safety.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute health and safety plans in the workplace according to legal guidelinesPrepare and enforce policies to establish a culture of health and safetyEvaluate practices, procedures and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the lawConduct training and presentations for health and safety matters and accident prevention including FLT/VNA trainingMonitor compliance with policies and laws by inspecting employees and operationsInspect equipment and machinery to observe possible unsafe conditionsInvestigate accidents or incidents to discover causes and handle worker’s compensation claimsRecommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measuresReport on health and safety awareness, issues and statisticsCarry out audits and inspections across all locations and provide appropriate recommendationsResponsible for onboarding of new starters in Wellesbourne including inductions and H&S training.Assist the HR team with the recruitment process for Wellesbourne agency staff (internal)Reduce the level of MHE within the group by stream-lining and cross utilising the MHE owned/ leased within the group.RequirementsProven experience as a Safety Manager in a warehouse environmentHolds or has an interest in working towards a NEBOSH (or equivalent) formal qualification such as a NEBOSH Certificate or NEBOSH DiplomaDeep understanding of legal health and safety guidelinesAbility in producing reports and developing relevant policiesGood knowledge of risk assessmentExcellent organizational and motivational skillsExceptional communication and interpersonal abilities
