They specialise in property alterations and modifications, damage restoration and maintenance projects. They work with Social and Private Housing clients, Property Management Companies, Care Homes, Schools, Councils and Commercial Buildings. Overview of Role:
Responsible for managing all Health and Safety requirements across the business. Covering multiple sites, you will work with stakeholders to lead, advise and provide governance on all health and safety matters under the CDM Regulations. The focus will be to deliver best practice and excellence through coaching and mentoring to maintain and develop a safety-first and continuous improvement culture, especially within operational teams.Key Responsibilities: Deliver the strategic plan to ensure Health & Safety is firmly embedded within the cultureTrack, improve & develop strategies for sustained H&S performance across operations and supply chainProactively monitor H&S compliance across all sites and implement improvements through utilising the technology available to do this effectivelyImplement systems of work and support managers to secure meaningful employee involvementActively ensure the implementation of legal, insurance and corporate standards in relation to H&S complianceManage reporting and investigation procedures for accidents/incidents to establish root causes and preventative measuresProduce statistics and communicate findings/trends to assist in the development of localised improvement plansProvide support in implementing a risk management system. Ensure HSE risks and impacts are appropriately identifiedWork alongside the rest of the SHEQ Team in ensuring there is an integrated approach with H&S, environmental controls, waste management systems and overall Sustainability strategyAs part of the management team, set, monitor, and report on KPI'sBring Health & Safety expertise to discussions and innovations for improvementAct as a technical expert; lead and coach all site teamsSupport H&S induction for new employees, providing up to date relevant content & also ensure site inductions for all staff, supply chain & clients are in placeDevelop and implement in-house H&S training with will all relevant stakeholders & Supply Chain where necessaryCarry out internal audits of the Integrated Management System & processes measuring performance and driving improvementCarrying out internal and external site inspections to ensure policies and procedures are being properly implemented and adhered toIncrease Health & Safety awareness to Managers and Team Members with training techniques and coaching sessions including continual development & delivery of Toolbox TalksComplete weekly/monthly management reports for submission to DirectorsBe a key driver in delivering the Sustainability Strategy in line with targetsAssist in maintaining ISO standards and accreditations and assist in attaining further standards in line with the business' overall strategic direction, particularly in relation to Safe T Cert & ISO 45001 accreditation The Ideal Person: Must have minimum of 3 years previous experience in a H&S capacityNEBOSH in Construction qualifiedMember of IOSHStrong knowledge of current legislationHighly competent and capable of delivering H&S targets across a multi-site organisationExperience and knowledge of Quality Standards such ISO9001, ISO14001 and ISO45001Experience developing & implementing new training proceduresA full UK driving license is essential Desirable Criteria: Experience or awareness in Buildings Safety Systems and M&EIT skills & knowledge of Microsoft applications, databases, spreadsheets, and software for reporting purposesPrevious experience in working on MTC Maintenance & Improvement contracts / Social Housing and, or Public Sector Government ContractsFor further information on this vacancy, or any other Built Environment job in Belfast or wider Northern Ireland, please apply via the link below or contact Robert Apps for a confidential discussion
