Overview of the Health and Safety Compliance Officer role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Health and Safety Compliance Officer to join our client based in Shareshill. Whilst working as a H&S Compliance Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the compliance, safety and well-being of colleagues within the business covering areas such as customer safety, service & maintenance, business licenses, and health and safety compliance. This is a critical role that requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to identify and mitigate potential hazards. Successful applicants will undertake a short induction to allow you to understand the role in full detail prior to your start.
Duties required as a Health and Safety Compliance Officer:
- Conduct regular inspections of the workplace to identifying potential hazards ensuring correct safety signage is around the store.
- Develop and implement safety policies and procedures in accordance with standards and regulations.
- PAT Testing, electrical conditioning reports, fire alarm testing, emergency light testing, gas and oil compliant.
- Health & safety compliance on RPZ valve, air conditioning, pest control and fire extinguishers.
- Completing basic legionella, fire, safety, staff and department based risk assessments.
- Incident and accident forms reports.
- Educate employees on safe work practices and emergency procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and training activities.
- Conduct safety audits to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Collaborate with management to develop strategies for improving overall workplace safety.
- Provide guidance and support to employees regarding safety concerns or issues
- Ensure the following licences are all up to date: Animal Welfare, Bore Hole, Plant Passport, Firework, Ofcom Music, Alcohol Licences.
- Other licenses include: Vent Service Reports, Pest Control, Play Area Checks, Food Safety & Hygiene, Air Conditioning, Oil Heater, Gas, Fire Extinguisher, First Aid, Fire Marshall, Auto Door, Lift Certs.
Experience expected as a Health and Safety Compliance Officer:
- Proven work experience within a like for like role.
- In-depth knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations and best practices.
- Ability to work from heights confidently.
- Strong analysis and solution skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing
- First aid at work and fire safety courses completed.
- COSH/NEBOSH accreditation.
