Health and Safety Advisor LondonSalary: Circa £50,000 plus Excellent BenefitsIrwin and Colton are delighted to be engaged by a renowned research and development facility to recruit a Health and Safety Advisor to join their operational safety team. This position will play a leading role with regard to Chemical Safety and advising on regulatory requirements within the facilities environment.The organisation is a diverse and complex institution that includes scientific, R&D and laboratory environments, and health and safety is a top priority. This position works collaboratively with other support services to deliver integrated and efficient support.Responsibilities for the Health and Safety Advisor will include:Ensuring consistent processes are in place to ensure regulatory compliance and reduction of riskSupporting and advising users on health and safety compliance in new labs and refurbishment projectsDeveloping and establishing key relationships with the Directors of relevant departments and other key stakeholders across the organisationProviding timely reports of all safety and health activity to senior management as requiredThe successful Health and Safety Advisor will have:Proven experience in a similar Health and Safety role, ideally from within scientific research, universities, containment facilities, chemical or similar environmentBioscience or chemical degree/qualificationsNEBOSH Certificate or equivalent as a minimum and membership of relevant body (e.g., IOSH)Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with experience influencing and engaging with a wide range of stakeholdersThis role would suit an experienced Health and Safety professional looking to progress their career further in a successful leading organisation.
