This is making the most of every day.An exciting opportunity has arisen for an established and highly driven individual to join our Trading Compliance team, who manage and shape all aspects of Health & Safety, Food Safety, Fire Safety, and Environmental Protection Policy within Lidl.The role plays a vital part in ensuring that we meet our regulatory requirements, and ensuring that we keep our colleagues, customers and contractors within our stores, warehouses and offices safe. You will be based at our Head Office in Surbiton; with frequent site visits across Great Britain. The successful candidate will have a NEBOSH General Certificate, as a minimum, alongside a proven track record in the broad disciplines of Health & Safety and Food Safety, ideally within a large, multi-site organisation. A knowledge of warehousing and/or construction is also desirable.We have moved to a hybrid working model with a recommended 2 days in the office per week for appropriate Head Office and Regional roles, empowering our teams to choose how and where they work best. Proactively improve compliance and standards at our Stores, Regional Distribution Centres, Head Office, and construction sites. Provide technical support to key decision makers and influence projects to ensure health and safety and food safety is at the forefront of decision makingDevelop corporate policy and safe systems of workUse your technical knowledge to ensure that risk assessments and internal procedures remain current, effective and compliantDeal with a wide range of legal and operational issues including providing technical guidance and reactive support, as requiredActively participate in meetings to bring a safety perspective and understanding to the businessProduce, evaluate, and issue various analysis and performance reportsCompleting detailed incident and accident investigations, and where required, RIDDOR reportingConduct site visits, inspections, and audits across sites to ensure the necessary levels of understanding and compliance are in place Represent and support the Company during local authority engagements, investigations and engagementLiaise with external service providers to ensure the highest levels of service and statutory complianceSupport corporate goals and maintain Lidl at the forefront of regulatory complianceWhat you'll need
A NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent, as a minimumCandidates must demonstrate recent relevant experience in applying Health and Safety policy and improving safety standards in the workplace ideally within a multi-site environmentExcellent communication skills with proven experience engaging with key internal and external stakeholders including senior management, contractors, regulators and enforcement agencies A strong technical knowledge across relevant health and safety legislation and ideally have knowledge in food safety, fire safety and warehousing or construction related mattersCommercially aware and understand the current business challenges within the industryPrevious project management experience is advantageous Hold a full UK driving licence and have flexibility to travel throughoutEffective time management skills, with the ability to work within tight time framesStrong written skills and IT skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint as a minimumWhat you'll receive
