Salary: £65,010 – £75,331 (L14 – L20, with flexibility for the right candidate)

Contract Type: Permanent, full-time

Start Date: September 2024 (flexible based on successful candidate’s availability)

About the role

Vision for Education are proud to be working in partnership with a multi academy trust based in Cornwall to recruit a Headteacher for one of their primary schools.

The main purpose of this headteacher vacancy is to provide professional leadership and management to a primary school within the trust.  The successful candidate will promote high standards in all areas of the school, to develop and share the trust’s values and to encourage a culture of excellence.

You will be required to secure and sustain effective teaching & learning throughout the school and to evaluate the standards of student attainment, using benchmarks, and setting targets for improvement.  The successful candidate will deploy staff and resources efficiently and effectively to meet school and trust objectives.

Responsibilities of the role include:


  • To ensure that all pupils receive a good quality education through a programme designed to promote a stimulating style of learning in a safe & healthy school environment.
  • To implement and sustain effective systems for the management of staff performance, incorporating appraisal and targets for teachers and support staff, including targets relating to pupils’ achievement
  • Secure the commitment of parents and the wider community to the vision and direction of the school
  • To allocate, control and account for those financial and material resources of the school which are delegated to the Headteacher by effectively managing the school budgets and material resources
  • To fulfil the Headteacher’s standards

Requirements include:


  • Teaching qualification with QTS / QTLS (essential)
  • Completed NPQH or working towards it (desirable)
  • Willingness to be the schools Designated Safeguarding Officer
  • Experience of being a senior leader with a proven record of raising standards
  • Ability to develop excellent working relationships with all stakeholders
  • Ability to recruit, develop, develop, and motivate staff
  • Understanding and commitment to the protection of safeguarding of children and young people
