To help us achieve our vision we're looking for exceptional people who live our values of care and integrity and who can inspire others; embrace change; deliver results and keep it simple.We will consider flexible working arrangements for any of our roles and also offer work place accommodations to ensure you have what you need to effectively deliver in your role.The Role:An exciting opportunity has arisen to join us in the role of Head Office Reporting Accountant, part of a small team responsible for the production of all financial and capital reporting and control activities for the Central Corporate entities, including entities M&G plc (FTSE listed), M&G Corporate Services Limited (the primary UK service company) and Prudential Capital plc (the group treasury entity). The financial reporting is for statutory and regulatory purposes, as well as internally for the business, and covers solo entities and quarterly Group submissions. The role will suit someone keen to progress their accounting career offering a wide range of accounting, reporting and control responsibilities.Key Responsibilities for this role:Support the maintenance of the monthly ledgers for the M&G plc Central Companies including month end process over investment accounting, derivative accounting, pension schemes, intercompany and cost recharges, lease accounting, subordinated debt securities accounting, dividends and share buy-back activitiesQuarterly reporting and analysis provided to Group for IFRS and SII reportingSupport preparation of FRS 101 financial statements and liaison with auditors for M&G Central CompaniesSupport the development and maintenance of the central companies control environment, ensuring sufficient process and controls documentation, and relevant controls operate effectively throughout the yearSupport the monitoring/oversight of M&G Central companies liquidity and cash flow requirementsInvolvement with the team at various governance functions including Treasury ExCo, Valuations and Technical Accounting forumsKeep up to date with the latest accounting and business developmentsMaintain a good relationship with the wider finance and other parts of the businessKey Knowledge, Skills & Experience:Qualified accountantStrong analytical skills with an ability to analyse and present resultsAbility to identify problems and drive to follow them through to resolutionAbility to deliver to tight deadlines in a tightly controlled processStrong interpersonal and communication skillsFinancial services industry experience an advantageExperience of Tagetik, SUN or Oracle Fusion an advantageWork Level: Experienced ColleagueClose Date: 21st April 2024We have a diverse workforce and an inclusive culture at M&G plc, underpinned by our policies and our employee-led networks who provide networking opportunities, advice and support for the diverse communities our colleagues represent.
