Appointment for September 2024We are seeking a dynamic and visionary individual to work as the Head of the Vocational Faculty here at Farlingaye.The Head of Faculty will play a pivotal role in shaping the academic direction and success of our vocational subjects offered, fostering an environment of excellence in teaching, research, and collaboration. Responsibilities include providing strategic leadership, overseeing curriculum development, promoting innovative teaching and learning, and ensuring the highest standards of academic quality and integrity. The successful candidate will be an excellent teacher and leader, possessing strong interpersonal skills to inspire and mentor faculty members and forge meaningful partnerships within and beyond Farlingaye. With a passion for education and a commitment to fostering a nurturing and intellectually stimulating environment, you will lead by example, driving forward standards within the Faculty.We welcome applications from candidates who have an Economics speciality, but all Vocational subjects will be considered.The Vocational Faculty is made up of Economics, Business, Travel & Tourism, Childcare and Health & Social Care. We have high expectations and all the staff in our team has a genuine commitment to excellent teaching and learning and providing a fantastic experience for our students. The Vocational faculty plays a hugely important role in ensuring the curriculum offer at Farlingaye offers students a broad range of subjects which inspire and ensure student success.Farlingaye High School is a popular and successful school, located in Woodbridge, a pleasant market town situated on the River Deben in Suffolk and just 7 miles from Ipswich. We are a creative school with excellent resources, lovely students and great results. Our most recent Ofsted report graded us Good with Outstanding features.We are part of East Anglian Schools Trust (EAST) alongside Kesgrave High School, Bungay High School and Castle East School. The Trust have also recently welcomed Aldeburgh, Easton, Leiston, Saxmundham and Wickham Market Primary Schools.We are a Teaching School Hub partner, which allows us to improve teaching and learning on a continuous basis. We are committed to providing excellent staff opportunities through developing and promoting our staff and offering an excellent CPD and support programme for new staff.
