Whatever you call us, we’re setting a new standard for insurance, and helping businesses to reach their full potential along the way.The roleAs EICL’s Head of Underwriting, you will lead the execution of the underwriting strategy, underwriting analysis and insights of the EICL portfolios and be a key member of the management team. Here’s what you’ll be doing Set and execute the underwriting strategy, including underwriting risk appetite, underwriting governance and oversight, and underwriting guidelines. Manage the EICL portfolios in conjunction with the Head of Actuarial and Portfolio Management Lead, including weekly and monthly analysis, development of pricing and underwriting actions to increase GWP, and initiating remediation action where required. Lead and manage product simplification projects, ensuring our insurance products offer fair value to customers, ensuring our customer documentation are simple to understand. Manage the underwriting referral process from the group MGA. Lead and manage the underwriting and peer review process, engaging with external audit partners where relevant Contribute to the business planning, ORSA and risk management processes. Lead and support technical underwriting discussions with key partners including quota share reinsurers, excess of loss reinsurers, co-insurance partners and the group MGA. A member of our decision making committees: Pricing & Underwriting, Claims, Audit Risk and Reserving and Product Oversight and Governance. What you will need to be successful in the role 10 years or more experience in UK personal lines motor underwriting. You have a customer-centric, innovative approach to product and underwriting. You have experience of writing and drafting policy wordings, ensuring these are fair and easy for customers to understand. You are comfortable navigating shifting priorities. You are an excellent communicator, confident articulating your ideas and perspectives individually and across the organisation. You are analytical and able to draw extensive insights from qualitative and quantitative data. You are commercially savvy and enjoy the challenge of adapting to the evolving needs of an ambitious, high-growth business. #LI-IL#LI-HYBRID
