Head of UK Logistics

Edward Reed Recruitment are the retained search partner for their client, a multi-national manufacturer and distributor of materials for the building services and retail markets. Following a review of their UK business, the role for Head of UK Distribution has been created.Reporting to the Operations Director, this role will focus on people and process, so that the business operates effectively with a highly engaged and well managed team.You will be the main link between the Distribution/Supply Chain team and the third-party distribution provider. With your team, you will be the first port of call for managing stock issues, delivery queries and for ensuring stock availability. You will ensure supplier performance is tracked and monitored effectively and engage externally with suppliers, distributors, hauliers, and importers to ensure orders are fulfilled.For this role, we will be identifying warehouse and logistics leaders who can demonstrate an ability to engage, develop and manage a mid-sized team of warehouse employees, including the introduction of more robust performance metrics. Naturally, safety, service and cost management will be high on the agenda, with this company’s desire for a business improvement mindset.
