Job Description The Head of Transport will be responsible for:Leading and managing the logistics department to meet operational objectives.Responsible for a multi-million pound budget.Oversee a fleet of circa 70 HGVs.Develop and implement strategic logistical plans.Enhance operational efficiency through continuous improvement initiatives.Liaise with other departments to ensure seamless operations.Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies.Review and update haulage rates nationally.Responsible for the O Licence Oversee the management of inventory, delivery and supply chain processes.Implement and monitor KPIs for the logistics department.Forecast future demand and ensure adequate resource allocation. The Successful Applicant A successful Head of Transport should have:A degree in Business Management, Supply Chain, Logistics or a related fieldPrior transport experience in a leadership role within, construction, aggregate or manufacturingHold a CPCPreviously named on a O Licence is beneficial TMS implementation experience Demonstrate success within cost reduction and continuous improvement Management of sub-contractors Comfortable with UK travel; Leeds, Manchester, Midlands, London All round logistics distribution and supply chain knowledge
