Supply Chain & Retail Division

Supply Chain Services provides both pre-wholesale and wholesale distribution of Pharmaceutical, healthcare and animal health products to pharmacies and hospital nationwide. The business supports a diverse customer base through the provision of strong service levels coupled with innovative commercial initiatives. In addition, the business provides services and supports that help independent community pharmacy to compete more effectively in an increasingly difficult environment and runs a network of Uniphar-owned pharmacies under the Life, Allcare and Hickeys symbol brands.

The Role

Delivering a best-in-class Trading function and strategy, driving continuous growth and development for the On-Demand business globally. The role will require dynamic thinking, desire to grow and be the best in the market, being the first port of call for customers globally. Working closely with the Sourcing Lead / team.

Key Outcomes

  • Development & Implementation of the long term trading/selling strategy representing Durbin UK and Devonshire Healthcare.
  • Manage / adapt our commercial strategy and priorities to deliver customer value, ensuring sustained bottom-line business performance, taking into account changing internal and external dynamics.
  • Responsible for managing and coordinating the trading team, to achieve and exceed budgeted sales and margin by division.
  • Managing forecasted sales in line with Procurement and operations.
  • Identify and present sales and margin growth opportunities with appropriate level of detailed business cases.
  • Lead on project proposals and developing new business opportunities in Supply Chain Strategy.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships across the business, in particular Quality, Finance and Operations
    Identify new service offerings and product category opportunities, in order to broaden our service offering as a go-to.
  • Engage with the greater Supply Chain and Life Sciences community to develop firm presence, including thought leadership.
  • Support Account Managers in gaining new business, and ensure current customer base service levels and relationship management is best in class.
  • Monthly monitoring and management of competitor commercial activities and service, outside of the Uniphar channels.
  • Convert strategic priorities into well-defined KPIs, ensuring that project plans are efficiently developed, resourced, tracked, and executed.
  • Actively participate and contribute to business development and project initiatives as required.
  • Experience in Pharmaceuticals in different markets - Ireland, UK, MENA, LATAC and Africa
    Developing a 30, 60 and 90 day rolling plan.
  • Participate, as needed, with recruitment and act as a people manager.

Qualification, Experience & Skills Required

  • Proven track record in achieving targets, in a wholesale environment.
  • Solid understanding of the Pharmaceutical Industry locally & globally.
  • Extensive experience in all aspects of relationship management.
  • Experience in incorporating a financial and strategic perspective to sales & trading policies.
  • Proven analytical skills combined with excellent commercial acumen are essential.
  • High levels of resilience and tenacity.
  • Equally comfortable working alone or as part of a team.
  • Flexible, innovative approach to work.
  • Excellent communication skills - ability to communicate at all business levels, including customer/supplier Conferences.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and to work to targets.
  • Good time management and planning skills.
  • Excellent Excel and Powerpoint skills
  • Knowledge of SAP, BI and Arcos CRM systems an advantage.

This role will be based in our office in Hayes where a flexible hybrid working model is also available. It's important to achieve the right balance between face-to-face interactions with virtual working over the long term. Moreover, there will be flexibility required to interact with colleagues (i.e., it's not a '9 to 5' type of job).
